My name is Madison-rose Dorrington, and I have cerebral palsy. I was given a grant for a companion dog from Mobility Dogs when I was 13, who has helped me greatly the past year and a half, not just as emotional support, but also physical tasks, like opening doors and helping me take my socks/coats off.
My dog’s name is Avery, and she has become one of my best friends. She enables me to have a constant companion that is usually almost always by my side or giving/asking me for cuddles. She has changed my life in a way I never thought possible, and I’m ever so grateful that the Wilson Home Trust allowed me to have such a wonderful furry friend by my side, and I honestly can’t remember what life was like before her.
