CALLING ALL YOUNG PEOPLE (14-25yrs), THEIR SIBLINGS AND FAMILIES!
Learning & Developing New Skills, Friendships, Individual Goals & Team Building, Rising to Challenges & Realising Potential.
We are launching “The North Shore Open Award Centre” at Windsor Park, Mairangi Bay on Tuesday 12th February 7-9pm.
The aim is to offer a Drop In Centre which would give families access to a specialist team who would be able to advise, support and train our young people as they progress through the Award system. In addition, we are encouraging those without disabilities to participate in the Award, and mentor and volunteer in partnership with our young people as well as have the opportunity to complete the Award themselves.
Such an opportunity is offered as outreach for those who do not have regular access to their co-ordinator or who do not have any support. There are several hundred young people across North Shore who do not have the support they require to succeed and hence lose interest and do not fulfil their potential and experience all the benefits of these opportunities. All young people have difficulties which may inhibit them and we want to embrace such difficulties and make it happen for them.
We would like to invite all young people 14-25yrs with or without disabilities to come and see if they would like to be involved. We believe it is a fabulous programme aimed at individual needs and enabling people to achieve in their own time.
